Anthem

Les paroles sont fortement marqués par le romancier et philosophe Ayn Rand, dont les idées influençèrent beaucoup Neil Peart à cette époque, le titre de la chanson étant tiré directement du roman Anthem de Rand. La chanson porte, comme les propos de Rand, sur l'individualisme, l'amour et le respect de son ego. Elle exhorte les auditeurs à vivre pour eux-mêmes et à réaliser qu'ils ont en charge leur propre vie. Musicalement, "Anthem" est un exemple classique du Rush des début, lourd et fort, avec des guitares rapides, une batterie et une basse "coup-de langues", et la voix très haute perchée des débuts de Geddy Lee.
